Oceans Collection

Oceans

This collection is inspired by a lifetime spent in water and still it feels as though I've been away too long.

Silence as a Language:
The Beyond Words Collection
Beyond Words

The explorer Erling Kagge once noted that "words create boundaries for our experiences." He suggests that in our quest to describe a moment, we often stop living it.

This is the heartbeat of the Beyond Words collection. It is inspired by the weightless silence of diving—a world of knowing smiles, shared glances, time spent with marine life, and a sensory richness that language cannot capture. Each sculpture acts as a vessel for those unforgettable memories that are etched into our spirits, not our dictionaries.

Crafted in my carbon-friendly studio in Wales, these pieces are hand-sculpted from repurposed waste glass—transforming the "discarded" into a silent, shimmering testament to the magic that lies beneath the surface.

Seagrass is the unsung hero of our oceans—a vibrant, underwater wildflower meadow that breathes life into our blue planet. These meadows are more than just beautiful; they are vital nurseries for marine life and powerful warriors in carbon sequestration.

My Seagrass Collection is a celebration of this hidden world. Each piece is born from a complex, two-stage process: first, I hand-pull colorful glass canes that mimic the swaying textures of the sea. These are then layered on a blowing iron and free-blown into organic forms that capture the fluid energy of the tide.

Crafted from repurposed waste glass, these one-of-a-kind sculptures are where artistic depth meets environmental purpose.

Beneath the Break:
The Waves Collection
Waves

There is a split second when a wave breaks where the world turns into a swirling vortex of light and air. My Waves collection captures this perspective from the inside out—inspired by the "rib vortices" of bubble tubes that frame a breaking swell.

This series, including The Last Wave, draws direct inspiration from the breathtaking photography of Ben Thouard. Using a palette of deep Polynesian blues achieved through re-melted waste glass, these sculptures mirror the power of Teahupo’o. When resting on their custom underlit plinths, the textures come alive, vibrating with the energy of the ocean itself.
